Which San Diego combo to book

Classic first visit. San Diego Zoo + USS Midway Museum is the only Tiqets bundle here. It pairs the zoo in Balboa Park with the aircraft carrier museum on the downtown waterfront. Both deserve a good half day, so don't squeeze them into one morning.

Families with young kids. Headout's 2-day LEGOLAND California + Water Park ticket includes entry to the SEA LIFE Aquarium at the resort. LEGOLAND is in Carlsbad, north of the city, so it works best as its own day or two.

Lots of sightseeing in a few days. The passes make sense here: the Go City San Diego All-Inclusive Pass (Headout and GetYourGuide), the San Diego Explorer Pass where you pick a few attractions, and the San Diego Pass Plus, which includes LEGOLAND according to its listing.

Is a combo cheaper than separate tickets?

The Zoo + USS Midway bundle is a little cheaper than buying the two tickets separately. Don't expect a big saving. With passes the maths is different: add up the attractions you'll really visit and compare that with the pass price. An all-inclusive pass only pays off if you keep a busy schedule.

How the tickets work

You book once and get a separate ticket for each attraction, usually on your phone. Choose a date for each part. The USS Midway part is a skip-the-line ticket. Passes usually activate on first use and run for a set number of consecutive days, so check the validity on the booking page before your first scan. Cancellation conditions can differ per part.

Zoo, SeaWorld and Safari Park
