Which San Francisco combo to book
Almost everything here involves the water. Alcatraz is the anchor for most visitors, and the bay cruise is the easiest add-on.
- First visit, Alcatraz is a must: Tiqets sells the official Alcatraz Island admission in two combos: with a bay cruise, or with the 1-hour Golden Gate & Bay Area cruise plus a city guide. Either way you get the island and a second trip on the bay toward the Golden Gate Bridge. Alcatraz tickets often sell out well ahead, so lock in that date before anything else.
- Families: Aquarium of the Bay + a cruise, the most booked combo here. Tiqets sells it with the 1-hour Golden Gate & Bay Area cruise or with a bay cruise. The aquarium is at Pier 39, the cruises leave from the same waterfront, and both fit in half a day. Kids who would be bored by a prison tour usually like the tunnels with sharks and rays overhead.
- Science-minded kids or a foggy day: Aquarium of the Bay + Exploratorium keeps you indoors. Both are on the Embarcadero, a walk apart.
- Thrill rides: the 1-hour cruise + Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The park is in Vallejo, across the bay, so treat it as a separate day and check how you'll get there.
- Want to see Alcatraz without landing: Aquarium of the Bay + the Escape from the Rock cruise. It is a narrated cruise around the island, not a landing; useful when island tickets are gone for your dates.
- Seeing the whole city in two or three days: Headout and GetYourGuide sell Alcatraz with a 48-hour hop-on hop-off bus, Alcatraz with a city tour, and the Go City All-Inclusive and Explorer passes.

Is a combo cheaper than separate tickets?
Not by default. The Tiqets combos here are mainly about one checkout and having both parts confirmed in one order. Where a bundle is cheaper than buying the parts on the same platform, the ticket shows the saving. The Go City passes work differently: their value depends on how many attractions you actually visit, so count them before you buy.
How the tickets work
- You get a separate ticket for each part, usually on your phone.
- Alcatraz runs on timed departures from Alcatraz Landing at Pier 33. Arrive early for boarding and pick a slot that leaves time for the second part of the combo.
- The bay cruise and the Aquarium of the Bay are a short walk along the Embarcadero from Pier 33, but check the departure point printed on each ticket.
- Weather on the bay changes fast. Bring a layer even on sunny days.
- Cancellation rules differ per part and platform; read the conditions on the booking page.
Combos Tiqets doesn't sell here
Tiqets has no Alcatraz + hop-on hop-off bus or Alcatraz + city tour combo. Headout sells Alcatraz with a 48-hour bus and Alcatraz with a North Beach walking tour, plus a bus + Golden Gate Bay and Alcatraz cruise combo. GetYourGuide sells an Alcatraz + bay cruise package, Alcatraz with a city highlights tour, and a bike rental with a ferry upgrade. Both platforms resell the Go City All-Inclusive and Explorer passes.
