Beatles fans. The Beatles Story + Magical Mystery Tour & Cavern Club is the one to start with, and the best rated by some way. The museum on the Royal Albert Dock tells the story; the bus tour takes you past the places in the songs and finishes with entry to the Cavern Club. Leave a half day for each, or do the museum in the morning and the tour after lunch.

Music beyond the Beatles. British Music Experience + Magical Mystery Tour & Cavern Club swaps the Beatles museum for a wider look at British pop and rock. The British Music Experience is in the Cunard Building at Pier Head, a short walk from the Albert Dock.

Football and music. Liverpool FC Stadium Tour + The Beatles Story and Liverpool FC Stadium Tour + Magical Mystery Tour & Cavern Club cover the city's two big draws. Anfield is out of the centre, so allow travel time and avoid booking the stadium tour on a match day without checking that tours run. Views and history. Royal Liver Building 360 takes you up one of the Three Graces at Pier Head for the view over the river. Is a combo cheaper than separate tickets?
