Which Castelo dos Mouros combo to book
First visit to Sintra. National Palace of Pena & Park + Castelo dos Mouros is the classic pair and by far the most booked. Pena's palace and the Moorish Castle walls sit on neighbouring hilltops, so they fit in one day. The Pena ticket comes with an optional transfer, which helps on the steep climb from the town.
Palace and gardens. Castelo dos Mouros + Monserrate Palace suits people who like gardens and quieter visits. Monserrate is further out along the road west of the town, so allow transport time between the two.
Short on time. Castelo dos Mouros + National Palace of Sintra is the best-rated bundle. The National Palace is in the town centre, at the foot of the hill, so it's an easy pair if you skip Pena.
No car. Castelo dos Mouros + Sintra Hop-on Hop-off Bus covers the castle and the bus loop to the castles and palaces. The bigger Sintra Bundle + Hop-on Hop-off Bus adds Pena and an audio guide app, but its reviews are noticeably weaker. Read them before booking.

Is a combo cheaper than separate tickets?
The castle bundles with Monserrate, the National Palace of Sintra and the hop-on hop-off bus are each about 5% cheaper than buying the parts. The Pena + castle bundle shows no discount; its value is booking both hilltop monuments, and Pena's time slot, in one go.
How the tickets work
You pay once and get a separate ticket for each part, usually on your phone. Check whether the Pena palace ticket has a fixed entry time and plan the castle around it. Check too where the optional transfer or bus starts. Paths in the park are steep and uneven, so wear proper shoes. Cancellation can differ per part, so read the conditions on the booking page.
All Sintra bundles are on the Sintra page. If you're also heading north, see Porto. Our guide explains how combos work.
